There are currently 4 puppies starting their training with us to become the sniffer dogs of the future!
Once the puppies are too old to be with their mums they come to us and we start their environmental and socialisation training.
The farm is perfect as there are lots of smells, loud noises and plenty of children and adults to handle them. . . This is why we need you!
They stay with us for roughly 3 weeks before going back to their owner and trainer Chris Hanlon at Brookvale Kennels.

When they leave us the pups are extremely confident and ready to start their training with Chris. He uses a tennis ball in the beginning for them to sniff out and find. The ball then becomes their reward and that’s why they love their job!
This is why during ‘puppy play’ sessions at the farm we introduce a tennis ball to them in order to help with this process.
After about 18 months of training and a lot of hard work with Chris these dogs become some of the best in the world. They end up helping police and saving lives from South Africa to Singapore and lots of countries in between.
