We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic person to join our Management team as a ‘Junior Duty Manager’.

Overview of Role

  • Daily running of the farm attraction, making sure each day runs as smoothly as possible and that all staff are performing to the best of their ability.
  • Always making sure that our events are the best they can be, going the extra mile to achieve this. Innovation and new ideas are key to our events, which you will help contribute to.
  • To be part of this strong team you will need to go above and beyond the minimum requirements, which will be rewarded. This is not a normal 9-5 job; however, it is a very fun and rewarding environment to work in.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is essential (minimum 1 year’s experience).
  • Previous experience with farm animals is not essential as all training will be provided.

Daily Tasks

  • Support senior management with the operational running of the farm from open to close.
  • Must be able to lead and manage the team effectively. Motivate our casual staff by leading by example.
  • Going above & beyond for Events: Easter, Date Nights, Halloween & Christmas.
  • Attending management meetings and contributing new ideas to the development of the business.
  • Ensure excellent public interaction & customer service across the whole team.
  • Handling day-to-day issues, complaints and problem solving.
  • Be confident in making announcements over PA systems and with large groups.
  • Be dedicated to maintaining the welfare and health of all animals. Responsible for feeding, bedding, and mucking out.
  • Willing to work in all areas across the farm, for example, entrance, tractor driver and quad rides.
  • Must have a valid driving licence.
  • Ensuring that all daily checklists are completed in compliance with our Code of Practice.
  • Administering First Aid when required (training provided).

Hours

Minimum 45 hours a week, across 5 days. Additional time in lieu to be taken during close season (January & February).

1 weekday & 1 weekend day off per week.

5 Week Rolling Rota during March to September, includes 1 weekend off and 1 Friday/Saturday off.

Salary

£13 per hour, approx £31,000 to £33,000 per annum (depending on hours worked).

Holiday Entitlement

28 days including statutory days in lieu. Five days to be taken over Christmas.
